We’d like to see bus services buzzing around our towns and villages: frequent, regular and full of passengers.
We’ve already started one service and we’re currently working on our second.
632 Shopper
When our long-standing bus services were withdrawn in February 2022 villagers in Dymock, Gorsley and Kilcot who had enjoyed excellent public transport links to neighbouring towns for decades were left totally cut off with no access to shops, doctors and often friends and families.
The 632 is a twice-weekly shopper service which brings villages into Newent to access essential services twice a week.
With support from parish, town and county councils, local businesses and individuals and working with Gloucestershire County Council transport unit and Newent Community Transport we were able to get this service up and running in just 8 weeks.
The service is well-used and has now secured funding to continue for as long as it is needed.
